So it's the London Rippers ?!

I usually don't spit on others ideas, but this one is kind of weird. The whole concept of the London Rippers can't be bought. The idea of having a hockey player turned baseball player... That should have been thought through a little bit more. Obviously you can't say you were inspired by an historical maniac which has no relation whatsoever with you town except for the fact that you share the name of the place were the atrocities actually happened centuries ago.

What bother me the most about the London Rippers of London, Ont. is that just like the London Werewolves they play with words to associate their name with London UK. I just don't understand why they keep on doing that. Can't you people show some pride for London Ontario? The name of your new baseball team should have a link with the history, the people and the place of London Ontario, not London UK.

I won't add to the pile of what has already been said about the name, the women and so on. I personally think this is going way to far, for what it is: A lousy marketing concept and a bad name.

I know it's part of the game in Independent and Minor Leagues to have a very cartoon logo. I just don't like this kind of logo. I'm very old school when it comes to baseball team logos and names.

The only cool thing about this logo is the font used for the word "Ripper" and the Maple Leaf used  to dot the I.

Can someone tell me how to represent "Diamond Jack" on a cap?

The team that will play baseball  in Labatt Memorial Park: the oldest continually operating baseball grounds in the world, and Canada's favorite ballpark can't be called the Rippers.

The London Legends would have been a nice fit. Don't you think?

And you can't raise controversy with a name like that.

Les Capitales de Québec, the only professional baseball team in the province of Québec announced earlier today via their Twitter account that they will be honored by the house of commons tomorrow (Oct. 25). It is the second visit to the provincial parliament in two years.  Earlier this fall the Laval University Rouge et or (CIS) and the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL) held special events to congratulate Les Capitales on their fantastic year in the Can-Am League setting a new record for the number of wins with (65) and their third championship in a row.
